Don’t go outside without a coat. At all.
Nothing says ‘tourists’ like the group of guys standing in T-shirts outside the hotel saying “wow, it is really cold here!”
If you would prefer to be groped by locals than yourself, look prepared. Luckily you are in a great city for shopping, so leave the soggy sneakers at the hotel in favor of some solid shoes, and remember: layering isn’t only easy on the circulation, girls here find it easy on the eyes.
Check snow conditions
From late December through February especially, ‘s’now or never’ for checking weather conditions during and even prior to your trip to Montreal.
If you are driving during your stay, this is even more important, as big snowfalls can mean you getting stuck outside the club apriori even getting to the back of the lineup. Your best bet for Montreal club hopping is to take cabs to your nightlife destinations of choice. Yah, the STM is reliable, but with a bunch of guys and Montreal being a fairly small city, you won’t spend much more money splitting cab fair than taking the bus.
Proper planning
An epic night out is almost always thanks to solid planning (especially for visitors), but in winter standing outside the clubs and arguing with your friends about where to go next takes on a whole new level of lame. Party like a pro and let those in the know guide you (no, your friend who visited 5 years back doesn’t count).
